Daniel G. Walczyk
Dan is a native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin but spent his primary and secondary educational years in Ellicott City, Maryland and Greenville, South Carolina. He received a B.A. in English from Clemson University in 1982 and after graduate studies in theatre at Illinois State University moved to Lancaster, Pennsylvania where he began a fifteen year theatrical career primarily as a production and stage manager. After meeting his partner and graphic designer Shawn, Walczyk & Young Studios was founded in a four room apartment in downtown Lancaster, PA in 2001. The two have since taken up residency in a historic home/studio “complex” built in 1830 and listed on the National Historic Register. A member of Professional Photographers of America, the North American Nature Photographer’s Association and the Center for Fine Art Photography, Dan specializes in nature, architectural, commercial and event photography, printing and color management for the Studio. He enjoys camping, hiking and biking and his love of kayaking often offers a unique photographic perspective for his nature and wildlife photography.

Shawn Young
Originally from central Ohio, Shawn obtained his degree from The Ohio State University in 1991. Following college he worked in the MR/DD (Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilites) field for five years in both the public and private sectors. He later worked as a Store Trainer for the Kinko’s Computer Services Department in Dublin, Ohio where he specialized in page layout, graphic design, color management and large format printing. Shawn is a member of the North American Nature Photography Association (NANPA) and The Center for Fine Art Photography. He enjoys hiking, kayaking, macro photography, Native American and Hawaiian shamanism studies. Walczyk & Young Studios uses a closed-loop color management environment where we create and manage our own paper profiles and monitor calibration profiles. This is the preferred method for producing high quality professional prints. If you would like to use any of our paper profiles for soft proofing your artwork please contact us. Please note that soft proofing on-screen will require a properly calibrated monitor.
